EVORICH Interviewed by Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore National Chinese Newspaper

EVORICH founder, Mr. Dennis Teo, was interviewed by the national Chinese paper, Lianhe Zaobao in January 2018. During the interview, Dennis shared with the reporter on EVORICH’s founding journey and the path towards a franchise model.

While Dennis had a rebellious past, he is highly motivated and forward-looking. With the hunger to succeed and improve his life, he decided to embark on a sales career path in the advertising industry. Dennis realised that his limited education might hinder his career progression, which is why he moved on to work with a flooring company and excel since then. Within a year in his job, he was promoted to the role as a General Manager.

Despite his early success, the SARS crisis had proven to be a potent force that resulted in a retrenchment where he had to carve out a new path on his own. Together with his wife, Angela, they started EVORICH and invested heavily in exhibitions and a showcase in Sentosa Island through Kidzania to create an enduring brand that builds emotional affinity with the consumers.
As EVORICH strengthens the market outreach in Singapore, Dennis saw the need to expand beyond Singapore shore. By creating a franchise model, EVORICH begins her franchise journey and establish strong presences in Brunei, Myanmar, India, Philippines and Maldives.

The secret recipe of EVORICH’s success, as Dennis shared was the strategy of “going global yet acting local”. The franchise system is developed by incorporating unique value proposition catered to each market to establish a mutual beneficial franchise system for each of her franchisees.

Looking back at the past 15 years, Dennis revealed a core principle of his philosophy in retaining human capital. In Dennis’s words, “At EVORICH, regardless of whether you are a foreign worker or a manager, everyone is treated fairly and equally. Promotion and incentives are based on personal merits and capabilities”.
